Ascription

Synonym for imputation. This is a procedure in which, for each recipient (a respondent with an incomplete questionnaire on listening or reading behaviour), a group of donors is selected who most closely resemble the recipient. The donors are respondents who have completed the questionnaire in full. The listening or reading behaviour of a randomly chosen donor is then assigned to the recipient.
