Radio & Audio
Say “audio” instead of “radio” from now on. Traditional radio via FM or DAB+ is still by far the most widely listened to, but all broadcasters are heavily investing in digital platforms: web and app versions of radio stations, sometimes also with video, dedicated thematic channels, audio on demand including podcasts, etc. At the same time, music streaming services are also competing for listeners’ attention. To track all this audio activity, the CIM has developed no fewer than four measurement systems in recent years. Discover:
- The CIM Audio Time (CAT) maps the ‘share of ear’ of all types of listening and of each platform.
- The Radio Audience Measurement study (RAM) measures reach, listening duration and market share of traditional radio.
- The Radio Streaming Monitor (RSM) and the Audio On Demand (AoD) measurement track the internet versions of FM and DAB+ channels and thematic channels that can only be listened to online, live or on demand, including podcasts from audio broadcasters or news sites.
- The CIM Internet study measures volume, listening duration and number of listeners for participating audio players and makes it possible to understand the profile of digital listeners.
